After  the success of the album called  A Symphonic Tribute to Dream Theater, Wioletta Jedynak (producer and the ex-manager) together with  Michał Mierzejewski (the originator of SToD, the founder of Sinfonietta Consonus) decided to take another step forward and pay a symphonic tribute to the band HAKEN.
The exclusive world premiere of "PREMONITION" took place on the 28th of August 2014 during the concert of HAKEN. This single was used as the intro tape.

about release:

"Some years ago when I was working on various projects I got to know the music of a band called HAKEN. My musical friend Marc Papeghin shared one of their songs on his Facebook wall. After some time he also created a music video for it.
Meanwhile, I was getting familiar with their work. It’s hard to put everything on a timeline now, but around the time when the Symphonic Theater of Dreams: Symphonic Tribute to Dream Theater record was released, I began to wonder whether SToD should be a tribute only to Dream Theater.
One year after the SToD premiere I decided it shouldn’t.

Every day we come across new albums of different bands. Sometimes we feel that this particular record is something marvellous and perfect for you at this particular moment of your life. It’s like a ‘revelation’ which can change your life on this particular moment completely. This happended to me with HAKEN, with their three albums at the same time. When ‘The Mountain’ was released, I listened to the first track ‘The Path’ for the first time and I was blown away. I created something like a short tribute or a demo track and later I began to fully experience all their back catalogue. Haken is a great musical discovery for me. They are one of my my favourite bands at the moment. An interesting thing is that we decided to record a single in the studio in an extremely short period of time. We had only a month to organize the recording session, complete the entire cast of the orchestra, book the studio, the sound engineers and the film crew.

We are planning to make a full album - A Symphonic Tribute to Haken (the fans have already voted for the tracklist ). However, we decided to release a single first so that it would become like a trailer for things to come. The making of a full album will have to wait longer because we need a budget for this (the profit from the sale of this single will be donated to the production of the entire album). It isn’t easy to do, so please be patient.

It was with great pleasure to orchestrate ‘PREMONITION’. HAKEN is incredibly melodic in it’s genre, that’s why it’s a big challange for me and eveyone involved in writing this piece of symphonic music. I am also very fortunate to have the possibility to write for such a large brass section. I hope I managed to capture the magic of this beautiful song. The recording of this single was a great and short adventure which turned out to be the prelude to the recording session of a full album of
A Symphonic Tribute to HAKEN.

I would like to thank all our crew for getting together in this short period of time, their wonderful dedicated work and huge passion for music. I invite you to listen to ‘PREMONITION’. "

Explorations by Jordan Rudess released

We are really excited to announce that very amazing and innovative orchestral project is released. Our orchestra recorded CD with one of the greatest pianist and keyboardist - Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater band.
The story of this project is truly amazing. Preparations has started many, many months ago. We were rehearsing very intensive, orchestra entered to studio for one full month in October. We have spent amazing time in Radio Gdańsk.
Jordan Rudess visited us for 10 days and it was amazing time and incredible experience of our lifes.

Here is official statement by Jordan Rudess:
The story begins back in the 1970s at the Juilliard School of Music, where I first began my musical explorations. I once had the opportunity at Juilliard to watch Pierre Boulez conduct Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring”. Passion burst out of each note of the piece, and the intense power of the full orchestral sound made an astronomical impact on me. Fast forward to the present…
In early 2010, my dear friend, the Venezuelan impresario, Emanuel Abramovits, invited me to play a few solo concerts. Emanuel was interested in my classical music background and promised me that, if I wrote an orchestral piece, he would find an orchestra to premier it. In a serendipitous twist of fate, days after I received Emanuel’s invitation, I heard a recording of a student orchestra in Turkey performing versions of Dream Theater songs. Eren Başbuğ, who at that point was only 18 years old, had single-handedly orchestrated and organized that impressive project. The stars had aligned, and through the magic of YouTube, I had found my orchestrator. Eren and I worked closely (thanks to Skype) as I worked on my composition, and by October, 2010, Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra premiered to a sold out crowd at Centro Cultural Corp Banca in Caracas, Venezuela with me at the keyboards and Eren conducting.
Challenges arose when it became time to find a method of recording this piece with a professional orchestra – a process that is costly and complicated. I decided to hold a crowdfunding campaign in order to raise what I would need to pay for the project, and I was amazed when, a few months later, my goal had been reached. At this point, an even larger obstacle emerged: how to find an orchestra that could handle this score. The music is both rhythmically and technically complex and its progressive sections would be especially challenging for traditionally trained classical musicians. Yet, again, the magic of the Internet connected me to Michał Mierzejewski and Sinfonietta Consonus in Poland. They had just released “Symphonic Theater of Dreams”, an album of orchestral versions of Dream Theater music. By their impressive grasp of DT music, I was confident that they would be able to conquer Explorations, and so it was decided that the orchestra would rehearse and record for several months in Gdansk, Poland while I lay my piano tracks down in New York, and then, in November, I would fly to Gdansk to put down some of my additional keyboard and iPad parts and work with the team in person.
I’ve sat in front of my synthesizers for years, twisting the knobs, trying to recreate the vast aural intensity of a live, acoustic orchestra. With Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra, I am finally able to hear one of my own compositions brought to life by that unmistakable sound. In writing this composition, I was able to bring together the elements of the most influential classical music I’ve experienced, along with the rock power and intensity that I am known for in my work with Dream Theater. Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra is a total “progressive” music experience. “Progressive” in that it is a forward thinking composition fusing my classical and progressive/metal sensibilities, but progressive also in showcasing new music technology. Thanks for listening,
Jordan Rudess

You can get the CD from Amazon, CDBaby or iTunes.
